A weekend of walking, talking, folklore, history and nature based at The Derrynane Hotel, Nature’s Spa. The leader for the weekend is Seán Ó Súilleabhain, guidebook author, founder of the Kerry Way, local historian.

Departure for Walks/Climb – Windy Gap-Eagles Hill
This walk is along the leg of the Kerry Way walking trail ascending gradually to the Windy Gap; return on the same route, still enjoying panoramic views and visiting the site of pre-historic Coad copper mines.
Distance: 13km/8miles. Ascent: 450m/1,475ft
Those in the mood with can continue from the Windy Gap on the ascent of Eagles Hill for views of fabled Glanmore and Lough Currane to the north and the Skellig Rocks sitting in the Atlantic Ocean and Kenmare River/Bay to the west and south, returning via the site of the Coad copper mines.
